The best anti spyware tools are actually free if you can find a company that specializes in corporate Antivirus and allows normal home users to download for free.
I recommend Spybot or AdAware. A quick Yahoo! search should bring them right up.
The best method of preventing spyware is to be smart online. Use Firefox if you are concerned for your privacy and security. Don’t open emails sent in chains, don’t open attachments unless it’s from someone you personally know, and if you must look at adult sites then ask online for reputable sites that do not contain malicious code.

get these free tools… adaware(lavasoft.com) spybot(safer-networking.org) HiJackThis(trend.com) winsockfix v1.2(majorgeeks.com)
install and run the adaware/spybot updater
disable restore
start-run-apps-accessories-sys… disk cleanup
reboot safe mode w/ networking (continually press f8 upon reboot)
Run adaware and spybot deleting anything they find.
Run Hijackthis (this shows all BHO’s on ur browser~very important)
Run free online scan (trend.com bitdefender.com pandasoftware.com) remove any findings
Run winsockfix v1.2
reboot
enable restore
you might also try these commands in your run box
start run cmd ~
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
netsh int ip reset

okay i downloaded spywareblaster just for a extra layer of protection, but to my surprise it lists like 10,000 sites that it “blocks” now many of the sites it list are very dirt saying things like porno.com and stuff. is this spywareblaster real? or did it just download a bunch of nonsense? also is it useful? please help cause have no idea if i should keep it or not.

SwB places about 10000 dangerous site into the Internet Explorer Restricted Zone witch limits those sites from using techniques such as javascript, active-X, and Java…all of which have been used, at one time or another to compromise and infect computers.
SwB is by no means a panacea, but it might…it just might prevent your expensive PC from getting hosed!

Yes I know I posted a dollhouse 2 video already. But that was solo and this was with 2 people. It also features the new map. An other way is to try scanning in safe mode with network.
Tap F8 when booting your computer. Choose safe mode with network.
Start in safe mode with network.
Start -> Run: type iexplore http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html (Enter/OK)
Scan your computer.
If you find something; delete it. Restart and do the same again. When the scanner finds nothing this scan is finish.
Reboot again in safe mode with network.
Start -> Run: type iexplore http://www.ewido.com/en (Enter/OK)
Scan your computer.
If you find something; delete it. Restart and do the same again. When the scanner find nothing this scan is finish.
Now you can reboot to normal mode.
*NOTE: Do not surf the net or open any programs when doing this scans. This because you can start spyware/adware/viruses manually.

Pay attention web suffers cause there is a new virus out there called AV7-spyware protection-its a fake alert and thank god cause of my anti-virus system, it removed the trojan that came in!
