my anti virus expired i need a new one with a good firewall can you tell me a great one and why is it great

If you are getting your DSL threw sbc or att/yahoo they have a great set up threw norton, “free”, including firewall. If your internet provider does not offer this I prefer Norton, but other people have preferences different than mine, but with Norton cost about $ 40 a year. I prefer to pay for a good anti virus protection, which includes mail and downloads and some one to contact if you have a problem.

I’m looking to change the software I am currently using for my dual monitor setup. Right now i’m using Actual Multiple Monitors. I like it, but it keeps sounding off my anti-virus alerts! I used to use ultramon, but it doesn’t really have any settings so I didn’t really like it.

What would you suggest?

Why do you need any third party software? For windows dual monitors works out of the box, quad monitors even works fine with no third party software if you have sli or crossfire.

I cant afford one right now so if anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it. I do have a Norton anti virus disk but never installed it cause i dont know much about it and any input on that topic also woild be appreciated. Thanks in advance ,lildlege

AVG.
Best free one by a LONG way, but still not the best out there.

As for norton, dont install it. It is incredibly resource hungry and will consume more RAM and processor power from you computer than some virus would (although arguably much safer).

The DNS setting adjustments, or anti virus website filters are awfully confusing. Can someone suggest a sure shot software to block porn sites from children without blocking other websites. I really wasted a lot of time at it and don’t want to leave my computer unprotected from online porn anymore. I don’t want my child to really get exposed to these.

There’s porn advertisements everywhere, there’s really no hiding them.
Just don’t click them, a lot can cause viruses.
I don’t know of any software. but you can clock certain sites.
And regarding your kid getting exposed, she/her will anyways whether it be online or T.V.

I’ve got Super Anti-spyware and Spy-bot Search and Destroy,which work real well.Both scan and actually detect malicious software in my computer,but I got the feeling that my Avast anti-virus doesn’t produce the same results and misses or doesn’t catch viruses like it really should.So my question is:Does anybody know a good free anti-virus that can give me results? Thanks =)

think I have tried them all (Norton, AVG, McAfee, etc.) and found F-Secure to be one that not only cleaned my system but has kept it clean since I installed it.

I asked this question for PC and was told to use AVG Free Edition and the second is Avast Anti-virus Home Edition. Is there anything to use for iMac and PowerBook Mac’s?

In general you don’t need an antivirus for Macs. Very few viruses are written for Mac, so the chances of you getting infected is minimal.

Just use common sense when browsing.
