i have no idea how to scan certain things with my anti virus software so can someone please give me the names of really useful addons that are for sure virus free and safe to download onto my pc and where to find them oh and their functions like what they do and stuff….THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I Can not access, my MCaffee or norton anti virus software or even control panel due to system 32 errors. I am certainly no computer expert but would really appreciate someones help in sorting this.

Download and install the free version of Malwarebtyes anti-malware its a very effective malware remover, once installed update it and run a quick scan, remove anything it finds.

If you are unable to install Malwarebytes its likely the malware on your computer is blocking it in some way, try renaming mbam.exe to a random string of letters or numbers as the malware may be designed to block mbam.exe.

If you are still unable to install Malwarebytes try Hitman Pro its far less likely to be blocked, it scans with 5 different anti-virus engines at once, simply activate the 30 day free trial once you PC is clean remove it, if you are unable to get to either of the websites please email me for advanced instructions on how to check your “hosts” file and device manager for malware.

This is a tricky one, It won’t let me open any of my other anti virus software..Example: my super anti-spyware program! This virus keeps popping up that I need a full scan of my computer has been infected.
It also has my wallpaper set with a link to there “anti virus” software..

When I use IE or Click program folder a critical error come asking there are viruses in your computer and suggest to install a antivirus (even thogh I have it). When I click OK it opens a web page and starts downloading IE antivirus. Please help me to avoid this. (when i check for viruses by AVG it shows you have no viruses your computer is clean)

i have the free avast antivirus software the one with the free one year liceanc i have bean noticing that people are saying to get malwarebytes with it so if u know if that makes the AV work better or the combo gives u a much better chance of catching a virus trying to harm ur system please answer.
also do u think that avast the FREE version is enough to protect ur system

The free Avast license allows you to use it as a traditional AV scanner, where it checks files as they’re accessed whether read or write. The free version of MalwareBytes only performs on-demand scanning, meaning that you have to tell it to perform a scan (the paid version performs continuous scanning).

Never combine two or more AV software which perform continuous scanning. They utilize (by design and necessity) many of the same techniques that viruses use to hide from the OS and block infections. In doing so, they can conflict with each other, preventing either from seeing malware that is infecting the system.

You can use the MalwareBytes on-demand scanner along with Avast, but it shouldn’t be necessary as Avast is one of the better engines out there, and MalwareBytes is unlikely to see anything that Avast missed.

Running windows XP and mcafee anti virus keeps popping up a window as windows boots saying my system has a virus and it can not be contained. What are my options here? Is there a way to remove the virus in safe mode or do I have to reformat my computer?

Well first, go to start>>All programs>accessories>system tools>task scheduler. That will make your anti virus work.

suggest you go to www.download.com There is a search bar at the top. Type in :
AVG FREE anti-virus download it then update it.. Then look for SPY BOT Search and Destroy..download it and update it.. After you update Spy Bot , click on “Immunize” on the main Spy Bot page.. let it run ..A window may pop up telling you, so many things have been blocked and there are so many that can be blocked… if it does , then click immunize at the top. This loads the definitions. Click block pages silently also.. Look for and download , Zone Alarm free fire wall also..You need one of these too. Then go to www. lavasoft.com and look for AD-Aware SE personal edition..Download it and then update it… These programs are all free..Then run all three programs. The Firewall runs itself.. You will need to run all three programs at least once a week..The AVG protects constantly. And can be set up to automatically update, and scan for problems. But you will have to open and check for updates and run the programs manually for the other 2.. I also recommend Abexo registry cleaner ( also available at download.com) but be careful when you delete registry files it may be something you want to keep look at each one before you delete them.
